What is DPF Regeneration?
DPF regeneration simply refers to the clearing of soot from a vehicle’s Diesel Particle Filter (DPF) when the DPF filter gets blocked. What causes the DPF filter to be blocked? Just some reasons for a blocked DPF: ∙Short journeys at low speeds where the engine may not get the chance to reach its optimum operating temperature. ∙Clogged EGR Valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve) increasing soot to the DPF. ∙Faulty Fuel Injectors. What damage can a blocked DPF cause? ∙Engine damage. ∙Weakened acceleration/Loss of power. ∙Increased fuel. Why do you need a DPF regeneration?
